Azovstal has about 600 victims in deplorable and unsanitary conditions, without medicine, water or food, many of whom are seriously injured.
Source: the representative of the head of the police department of Donetsk oblast, with the call sign “Police” in “Azovstal”, on the air during the 24/7 national television news?
According to “Police”: “As for the victims – the situation is very bad. There are around 600. The conditions are just appalling. Maybe you have seen pictures on social media. To be honest, it is impossible to convey the depressing situation to the hospital .. We periodically collect fuel and technical water, which are available at the factory, and bring them to the hospital.
How to describe the situation itself? Basically, there’s a huge gym, a couple dozen bunk beds, and the rest is just on the floor: belongings, belongings, a factory uniform on which limbless fighters lie side by side side of the others – one without arms, one without legs, one just a victim. The conditions are completely unsanitary: it’s already warmer – there are flies, moans of pain, the smell is terrible.”
Details: “Police” added that there are practically no medicines or medical instruments. And the operating room itself, since the bombings, is just a table against the wall.
A police spokesman said on May 14 that an injured person was operated on without anesthetic – the fighter simply held a belt between his teeth and screamed as medics “cleaned out a hole the size of a bullet from tennis in his leg”.
He added that many seriously injured people died due to lack of medical treatment.
There is hardly any food or water left at the factory either.
Reminder: On May 14, relatives of the Azovstal defenders called on China to help extract Ukrainian troops from Mariupol.
