Euroleague Basketball Expands Web3 Strategy with Interactive Video NFT’s in Collaboration with Clancy International

Web3 is the new engagement space for sports, esports and entertainment fans based on blockchain technology. And interactive NFT videos now give fans the ability to redefine their relationship to their passions and truly own some of the content produced by the league, clubs and players.

For example, the EuroLeague now has interactive video cards, called EuroLeague EuroReels, minted as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to ensure each item is unique. The EuroReels capture key moments from the 2021-22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season and will come with a wealth of information and statistics, making it a true collector’s item. EuroReels will come in various rarities and custom cases.

Rem Langan, CEO of Clancy, said: “We are very pleased to work with such a progressive and world-renowned sports league. The EuroLeague has a passionate fan base and we are delighted to provide them with a high-quality digital experience. C “It’s an honor to work alongside a sports and entertainment organization driven by such creativity, innovation and fan excellence. Clancy is delighted to welcome Euroleague Basketball to its growing portfolio of global sports brands like SL Benfica.

The Euroleague Partnerships Department has worked over the past 12 months to define an appropriate Web3 strategy, maximizing engagement opportunities for fans and consumers. The partnership with Clancy not only aims to create new virtual products, but also to keep the functionality of the products in line with fan engagement expectations.

“Our fans deserve our best efforts to pull out all the stops and create engaging spaces in which they feel comfortable and entertained, and we’re very pleased to have accomplished that with Clancy,” said Roser Queralto, commercial director of Euroleague Basketball. “The Web3 space is still in its infancy, but partnering with solid companies not only guarantees a greater business opportunity, but also a faster learning curve.”

To avoid speculation and give all EuroLeague fans the opportunity to own a piece of the competition’s history, the launch of EuroLeague euroreels will be staggered and from then on all interested fans can join the EuroReels Beta Pass (RBP) list, to be notified when the beta platform goes live. This will be the place to create an account in anticipation of the Private Collection beta release, before the mainstream release next month.
