Powdered Wellness Drinks Fill My Diet, So I Asked Experts About Them

If your social media feeds look like mine, you’ve seen an ad or two (or dozens) for different brands of green powders and “mud” drink powderswhich are not made of mud but of mushrooms.

These products promise nutrient loads in a convenient drink, but I was curious what the experts thought. So I asked dietitians if these powders were worth buying.

“Although energy wellness drinks are very popular, seem convenient and can be described as ‘healthier’ than the alternatives, most of the time these drinks are purely marketing ploys“, says Jenna Litt, of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

Although these drinks may provide additional micronutrients, they do not provide anyone with all of their daily micronutrient requirementsLitt adds.
