“Hello! My name is Oisín Boyd (@oisinboyd) and I work in a communications agency specializing in PR and communication across fashion, lifestyle and beauty. I am also a freelance stylist. I come from Greystones, a seaside town about forty minutes from Dublin. in Ireland – being by the ocean is so reassuring, although I definitely want to live in the city.Four years ago, I moved to London from New York, two centers of people from all walks of life around the world. Now almost all my friends live in East London so I rarely have to travel more than twenty minutes away from home. And it’s pretty central, so I’m never far from great places to spend time – incredible galleries, restaurants and shops are right at my doorstep, so I try their best best use.

In my role as Senior Account Executive at The Cast, I work across the VIP and talent side of the agency. Fashion has always been my biggest concern and popular culture followed closely behind them. I love connecting incredible brands with interesting people and then taking pictures with a creative team – I feel happy that I can do it as a career. Since I have worked in creative production on fashion brand campaigns for years, styling has always been a professional goal. The freelance style actually blossomed out of the lock and it was a really natural development. In my work I constantly consume new fashion editorials, current trends and the latest products. But my personal aesthetics are minimal and gentle; I like to pay attention to the cut, fabric and ethical production of clothes. As much as I can, I’m trying to shop less and invest in classic pieces that I know I’ll keep loving from brands that have a story as the years go by. You will find me most winter days in an oversized white shirt or knit, blue jeans, New Balances and a great big coat.

Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is brush my teeth and shave my face. When I was about 14, I decided to shave every day and never grow hair on my face – I just knew it wouldn’t look good on me. Since shaving so often can be quite hard on the skin, I then use Aesop’s Maroccan Neroli Post Shave Lotion to reverse the irritation. It’s quite soothing and relaxing … it’s a winner to me. In addition to this important decision, as a teenager, I never cared much about beauty. I first began to understand this when I started going out at night. The preparation process is this transformational hour to build your confidence.

I like the face I present to the world to look young, tight and alive. I also believe that there is strength in finding what is unique and in amplifying it. I have really big, sticking ears, and when I was about six, my mom brought me to a plastic surgeon to pin them. The surgeon thought I was too young, so I didn’t, but I grew up thinking about this experience and kept worrying about my Dumbo-like ears. Only in recent years have I started to take less care of them and even love them. I can hear how blessed I am! Feeling best and seeing others radiate the same trust is inspiring to me, and if I leave the house feeling like I’m on top of the world, I know I’m going to pull that energy back into my life. Good energy is transactional.

After shaving, I’ll take a very hot, unpretentious shower. About three times a week I use Aesop’s Redemption body peeling, which also has an exfoliating and moisturizing effect. I like that I feel hydrated just because time is the most important thing in the morning. I try to hydrate my whole body every day with a simple Nivea moisturizer, although this does not always happen. When I meet someone with an attractive scent, it immediately attracts me (even if I just ask what he’s wearing). So scent is an important part of my self-care regimen. During the day I like to wear Maison Margiela Replica Jazz Club eau de toilette and in the evening Tom Ford Gray Vetiver. Both scents make me happy every time I wear them and they never lose their classic appeal.

When I’m on set, I get great information from the industry and I always try to make the most of it by asking hairdressers and make-up artists about their best tricks. One thing I’ve learned is to use a toothbrush to apply Vaseline or gel to the center points of the eyebrows so that the eyebrows are adjusted and stay in shape. I’m not a fan of the super gelled eyebrows that’s popular right now, so I do it sparingly and carefully. One tip that I think many people forget is that obscure objects that come in regular contact with your face can affect your skin. Every week, I set aside some time to wash eye masks, jewelry, scarves, hats, pillowcases and towels.

I use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil for the night. It is soft on the skin and I love lavender tones at bedtime. In the morning, serums are the first step in my skin care. I apply a drop or two drops of niacinamide + zinc from The Ordinary on each of my cheekbones and then massage it all over my face. These things are unparalleled in the fight against stains – they change lives. Then do the same with The Ordinary hyaluronic acid. Texture is as important to me as it looks, and thanks to hyaluronic acid, my skin is buttery and soft. This is a very important step. After feeling like a scientist due to serum decoction, I put some Aesop Petrsley Seed antioxidant eye cream around my eyes. To be honest, eye cream is confusing to me. I’m not sure what she’s doing, but my friend insisted it was a need for hydration, and I believe her.

Thanks to the dewy skin, I look and feel like a sexy angel, and if you want, Futuredew is your product. I spend time gently rubbing the oil in my face – the consistency is amazing. It’s not as greasy as I’ve found in other oils, and it gives me the best result. I immediately feel hydrated and fresh. In the end, I raise a slightly brighter boy’s eyebrows Brown. I wasn’t blessed with full, thick eyebrows (moving towards my temples), so it’s perfect for filling. I love the size of the brush because it is small enough to avoid a large visible stripe, a faux pas, which is hard to avoid with other products.

I get under stress quite easily and it immediately affects the face of me. Lifestyle things help (a minimum of eight hours of sleep at night, consuming plenty of cold water throughout the day, following a diet that is good for mind and body). I also practice meditation every day. If I really want to relax, I go to an art exhibition. It’s a great activity with friends, but I also quite enjoy walking alone, listening to music and spending time. Some of my favorite galleries are Tate, Barbican and Saatchi Gallery. I have a friend of the artist who is quite adept at current exhibitions, so whenever he recommends visiting an exhibition, I will add her to my list! Photo or interior design shows tend to be my favorites. Running can calm me down, although I prefer to keep them short with many breaks on the walk. And if those two fail, I’ll go dancing. Mare Street Market is my favorite local bar and will either start there or have dinner at Bistrotheque. From here we can go to Ridley Road Market – it has fun energy and good dance music. ”
